NTI Skill Competition: Showcasing Student Innovation in Electrical Service Projects
Date: May 19, 2025
Location: Necsom Technical Institute (NTI), Garowe
On May 19, 2025, Necsom Technical Institute (NTI) proudly hosted a Skill Competition and Showcasing Day as a powerful testament to the potential of NTI students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the labor market. This event brought together bright minds from Batch-4 and Batch-5 of our Electrical Services program. This event was planned as a platform for students to present innovative technical projects, demonstrate collaborative and teamwork skills and apply the theoretical and practical knowledge to address real-world challenges in the electrical service sector.
A total of NINE projects were submitted for evaluation in terms of innovation, practicality and impact. The projects were ranked from first to last. The top-four projects were awarded with recognition certificates and financial aid.
Effective Stakeholder Participation
The event was honored by the presence of key stakeholders from the industries, education and social sectors, including representatives from:
- NIS Foundation
- Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA)
- Several social and industrial institutions
Their active engagement provided students with the unique opportunity to connect directly with potential employers, mentors, and community partners.
Empowering the Next Generation
This competition was more than just a contest—it was a celebration of innovation, learning, and community engagement. It also proves NTI’s unwavering commitment to quality TVET and the institute’s role in driving youth empowerment and addressing workforce shortage in the region.
